FLYING DOCTOR
SEPE is equipped with efficient treatment instruments, making it possible to quickly provide medical care to the patient already during the flight. Sometimes swift help may depend on only minutes. The helicopter´s crew includes a doctor, a pilot and a co-pilot. If needed, the doctor can provide consultation by phone to health care centers and ambulance drivers.
A MATTER OF MINUTES
Most often flying is the fastest route. Speed may even save lives. Time is precious in the case of a serious accident or sudden illness. For example, SEPE flies from Oulu to Pudasjärvi in 25 minutes, or to Kajaani in 35 minutes. SEPE is ready to fly in 5-8 minutes.

ALSO ON THE GROUND...
The doctor´s ground unit operates primaly in the Oulu area, but also travels longer distances if weather conditions prevent the helicopter from taking off. The unit contains equipment necessary for intensive patient care. The vehicle is equipped with VHF, GSM and VIRVE phones and a GPS device.
IN CASE OF EMERGENCY, DO AS FOLLOWS
If possible, make the emergency call yourself to make sure the call is received.
- First explain what has happened and where.
- Answer any questions you are asked.
- Do as you are instructed to do.
- Do not hang up the phone until told to do so.
COOPERATION
